Clean Water. Great Coffee.
Coffee and water have a complex and inseparable relationship. Not only does the plant require a significant amount of water in its growth and production, but a cup of coffee is also 99% ... water! At Superior Coffee Roasting Company we are passionate about our product, but doing so in a way that is supportive of a healthy freshwater environment both here in the Great Lakes Region, as well as other communities abroad.
Our passion for crafting exceptional coffee, doesn't just end once the coffee is roasted and ground. The other part of the equation is water, and the fact that clean water = great coffee!
For this reason we are committed to helping support the equity and sustainability of the 3% of the earths water that is drinkable. Our ongoing partnerships, fundraising, and donations made to the organizations listed below help to fulfill our mission and to promote their incredible work.
It's our way of making sure earth's water continues to bring life to your favorite brew!
Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy
In collaboration with the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy, we have, with deliberate attention to detail, come up with a roast profile and blend that captured the high regard of Gary McGuffin, who is on the local Board of Directors, and a founding member of the LSWC. This blend is so named the "Freshwater Fusion"
100% of the net proceeds from your purchase of our Freshwater Fusion Blend go to the LSWC for their ongoing programs to help protect and bring awareness to our important watershed.
Freshwater Future
Our Mission
Freshwater Future is a catalyst for community action that strengthens policies designed to safeguard the waters of the Great Lakes region.
Vision
Living in the Great Lakes region, we are surrounded by lakes, rivers, wetlands, and shorelines. Water is ubiquitous in the lives of Great Lakes residents, from recreation and rejuvenation to drinking and business. These resources, while abundant in our region, are precariously positioned in a rapidly changing world. Threats to the livelihood of the water ecosystems that support human life are numerous, diverse, and simultaneously political and biological.
